“I’m the security manager at City of Derry Airport. We are regulated by the CAA and over the last year they’re started looking at cybersecurity. We have a cybersecurity manager but in my role obviously I have to help with that. The training, I thought it was very useful and I thought your pace was great for someone who’s really new to the cyber world. Hopefully I’ll be able to put some of this knowledge to practice when I go back.” Tracy Duffy - Site and Passenger Security- City of Derry Airport

I have found it very useful. I have taken away a lot of points and I can reuse the information to help various small and medium-sized businesses on how they approach certain cyber-attacks. It was very, very valuable and it was great to work with such diverse groups of people and the thoughts and processes and the exercises. So, thanks for that.

“Amar, I really enjoyed the course. I thought the pace was just right and was well interspersed with really good ideas. Obviously you have a wealth of knowledge and the breadth of knowledge that you brought to the course was very useful in terms of tips and advice. It just reinforces in myself that as organisations we need to do more work but also obviously reinforcement in those areas where we can focus and then get the most return, so the bottom 70% of the pyramid is where we should be working and trying to deal with those sort of issues that tend to get lost with minutiae and that doesn’t have much payback in terms of trying to detect real time breaches which really is where we need to change our focus. But I really enjoyed the course and would recommend it to my colleagues so thank you all.” Stephen Hylands- Head of IT- Southern Health & Social Care Trust

“We are on a journey with cyber and this course has been really useful. We reconfirmed a lot of stuff, a lot of useful new tips and a lot of real-world evidence and examples were very useful as well. We’ll try to implement them to build up our cyber resilience. Thank You.” Thomas Shirley- Head of IT and Network Systems- SRC

Deputy Head of Corporate Services - Emergency Response Planning- Department for the Economy
“I think for non-technical staff involved in business continuity and emergency planning and in the situation when the IT function is managed elsewhere, the information that has been most useful really has been about the preparation and education of staff to protect against an incident and what to include in plans and checklists, and also ongoing communication of staff to promote ongoing vigilance. There was lots of useful information presented so thank you Amar.” Denise Wilson - Deputy Head of Corporate Services - Emergency Response Planning- Department for the Economy

Digital Services Manager - Derry City and Strabane District Council
“We recently started doing the CAA recommendation to look at cyber security and that's what we were doing, looking at the cyber security plans of the airport, we were also looking at the clinical side of things. I've recently done our cyber incident response plan and to be honest I should have done a better copying and pasting job from all our organisations. What I found to be really helpful was that I started to understand more about what a cyber incident response plan is and now I can go back and edit it and probably make it more friendly for my organisation. As I said at the start, yesterday I wasn't too sure about the playbooks, the playbook information was really helpful to get my playbooks up and running. In my point of view the course went really well, I enjoyed the interaction with various people who had different issues, it was great. And yourself Amar, you are really really friendly and hopefully Amar I’ve got a contact that I can torture in the future if I need any more help, thank you.” Paul Jackson - Digital Services Manager - Derry City and Strabane District Council

Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Management - NHSCT
“I have found this course very very interesting because we have tried back in September a playbook and though we have a cyber incident management plan in place, what we found out was in real scenarios, what we put on paper is not necessarily practical. One of the concerns I had in trying to send the message across was visibility and this course has confirmed how important visibility is. We cannot protect what we don't know we have. So yes, I really enjoyed the course, the duration, the materials used, the practical tips and the pace. English not being my mother tongue, it could be challenging at times but it was really really good and I will recommend this to my peers and the rest of the technical team and it'll be a pleasure really to come back in a couple of years and see where we stand for a refresher but thank you very much Amar.” Celine Francisca Tretou - Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Management - NHSCT

Managing Director and Airport Risk - City of Derry Airport
“Over the last year, the CAA have had a focus on cyber security which we probably didn’t have before. Fair to say our emergency procedures are largely focused on the unlikely or very unlikely event of an aircraft accident or incident where they should really be more focused on the likely event of a cyber security incident so that's something that can be taken away. In terms of the best of the course, for me on day one was perfect, on day two I was lost for large parts of it because of the technical element of it but thankfully Paul was there to decipher on behalf of the airport, I’m sure they will have a good brush up session after this between the three of us.” Steve Frazer - Managing Director and Airport Risk - City of Derry Airport
