“We recently started doing the CAA recommendation to look at cyber security and that's what we were doing, looking at the cyber security plans of the airport, we were also looking at the clinical side of things. I've recently done our cyber incident response plan and to be honest I should have done a better copying and pasting job from all our organisations. What I found to be really helpful was that I started to understand more about what a cyber incident response plan is and now I can go back and edit it and probably make it more friendly for my organisation. “I have found this course very very interesting because we have tried back in September a playbook and though we have a cyber incident management plan in place, what we found out was in real scenarios, what we put on paper is not necessarily practical. One of the concerns I had in trying to send the message across was visibility and this course has confirmed how important visibility is. We cannot protect what we don't know we have. So yes, I really enjoyed the course, the duration, the materials used, the practical tips and the pace. “Over the last year, the CAA have had a focus on cyber security which we probably didn’t have before. Fair to say our emergency procedures are largely focused on the unlikely or very unlikely event of an aircraft accident or incident where they should really be more focused on the likely event of a cyber security incident so that's something that can be taken away.
